Memorable Horses

  • My 128 pony Just Dandy, who I had for 3½ years and we went from 70cm classes to HOYS, Hickstead, and Olympia.  We built such a fantastic relationship, and he always went just that little bit extra for me . Together we won at Hickstead in 2014, took the 128cm National Title in 2013, came 3rd at Olympia, and won loads of HOYS qualifiers and Winter Second Rounds.  But best of all away from competitions he was a proper pony with a cheeky character who we did beach rides on, fun rides, cross country and dressage.

Tahnia Jordan Jones Wins Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round at Quainton Stud!

Tahnia Jordan Jones Wins Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round at Quainton Stud The first Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round of the season was kicked off in style at Quainton Stud in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, as seventy-six competitors took to Ian Clark’s technical course. Each starter was campaigning to secure one of the two Horse of the Year Show tickets on offer for this October’s Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Championship Final and it came down to twenty-three talented combinations who made it through to the final jump off. Fourteen year-old Tahnia Jordon Jones made the journey from Swindon, Wiltshire to take top spot on board Jumper, an 11 year-old grey gelding owned by Julie Jordan. This pair contended with nine combinations producing a treble clear before them but with their eyes on the clock they crossed the finish line in an unbeatable time of 29.95 seconds to put them straight into first place. Taking home the second Horse of the Year Show ticket was 16 year-old Allana Clutterbuck from Upminster, Essex riding Susan Evans’ 7 year-old bay gelding, Atomic Du Bary. From middle order this partnership produced a strong challenge, leaving all the fences standing for a treble clear score in 32.38 seconds. The riders and ponies that finished in third to tenth took home the chance to compete in the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Masters at the British Showjumping National Championships.   Quainton Stud – Saturday 22nd April 2017 Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round 1st Tahnia Jordan Jones & Jumper – 0/0/0 – 29.95 seconds 2nd Allana Clutterbuck & Atomic Du Bary – 0/0/0 – 30.38 seconds 3rd Lily Freeman Attwood...

Tahnia is in the winnings at the EHPI!

A HOYS Qualification and Placings for Tahnia Jordan-Jones at the British Show Jumping National Championships

Tahnia Jordan-Jones had a good day at the British Show Jumping National Championships at Stoneleigh last week, riding both ponies successfully through to the jump off of the 138cm National Final. Thyme Flies was drawn first, which meant he was first to jump off,  and set a cracking time, which subsequently wasn’t beaten, however, their luck was dashed when he rolled an unlucky pole at the last fence. Oakhurst in the Spotlight also jumped brilliantly but was just beaten on time, which meant Tahnia didn’t retain her National title but came a very respectable 3rd on Spot and 6th on Thyme Flies. She then went on to ride in the 148cm National Championship, which was a big, technical class, open to catching riders out and causing errors, so even with such an honest performance from her pony, she rolled a pole and attained four faults in the first round. As there were only four clears overall, she finished in 5th place with the fastest four faults, but the best news of all is that because of her performance at Stonleigh, she will be taking Sulan Hollywood Knight to the Horse of the Year Show to compete in the Leading Pony Show Jumper of the Year Class! We send our biggest congratulations to Tahnia and wish her the best of luck in all of her competitions for the rest of the...

The combination had only 4 faults over the whole week of competition to finish in fourth place overall! She also gained consistent placing’s throughout the week on another of her mounts, Oakhurst in the Spotlight, as well as winning a 1.10m class on Sulan Hollywood Knight, who may have gained a HOYS Qualification in only his second 1.35m technical and demanding Pony Show Jumper class, in which Tahnia rode spectacularly to finish 5. They are currently awaiting confirmation from the BSJA but we wish the pair the best of luck and have all our fingers crossed that they can make it to HOYS!
