Memorable Horses

  • My 128 pony Just Dandy, who I had for 3½ years and we went from 70cm classes to HOYS, Hickstead, and Olympia.  We built such a fantastic relationship, and he always went just that little bit extra for me . Together we won at Hickstead in 2014, took the 128cm National Title in 2013, came 3rd at Olympia, and won loads of HOYS qualifiers and Winter Second Rounds.  But best of all away from competitions he was a proper pony with a cheeky character who we did beach rides on, fun rides, cross country and dressage.

Tahnia is in the winnings at the EHPI!

Tahnia Jordan-Jones has been having a cracking few weeks and really pulled some brilliant results out of the bag at the recent England Home Pony International Show held at South View Equestrian Centre, where she took three ponies and came home with several wins and placings. Catch up with how she did below in her latest blog update Day 1 – Wednesday Sulan Hollywood Knight wins a very competitive 1.20m class and new ride, Jumper comes 7th in the 1.15m Pony Performance Day 2 – Thursday Oakhurst in the Spotlight takes  5th place in the Winter 138cm and is selected to jump on the England 138cm team at a result Jumper has a pole in the jump off of the 1.15m Viewing Trial and Sulan Hollywood Knight has an unlucky pole in the 1.25m class but the pair still manage a good round Day 3 – Friday Friday brought around the Team Event, where three of the team, including Tahnia, jump clear in the first round which meant they carried through a score of zero to the second round.  Tahnia had been picked to go anchor, and as the other 3 team riders kept a clean sheet, no 3rd jump off was required and they had won gold! Jumper got his second double clear Foxhunter and finished in the money in 5th place which we were thrilled about and Sulan Hollywood Knight jumped the Power & Speed and had an unlucky pole but a very quick time meant he still finished 4th Day 4 – Saturday Sulan Hollywood Knight wins the Accumulator with a very quick time! The starting height was 1.20m and...

A HOYS Qualification and Placings for Tahnia Jordan-Jones at the British Show Jumping National Championships

Tahnia Jordan-Jones had a good day at the British Show Jumping National Championships at Stoneleigh last week, riding both ponies successfully through to the jump off of the 138cm National Final. Thyme Flies was drawn first, which meant he was first to jump off,  and set a cracking time, which subsequently wasn’t beaten, however, their luck was dashed when he rolled an unlucky pole at the last fence. Oakhurst in the Spotlight also jumped brilliantly but was just beaten on time, which meant Tahnia didn’t retain her National title but came a very respectable 3rd on Spot and 6th on Thyme Flies. She then went on to ride in the 148cm National Championship, which was a big, technical class, open to catching riders out and causing errors, so even with such an honest performance from her pony, she rolled a pole and attained four faults in the first round. As there were only four clears overall, she finished in 5th place with the fastest four faults, but the best news of all is that because of her performance at Stonleigh, she will be taking Sulan Hollywood Knight to the Horse of the Year Show to compete in the Leading Pony Show Jumper of the Year Class! We send our biggest congratulations to Tahnia and wish her the best of luck in all of her competitions for the rest of the...

Tahnia Jordan-Jones has a fantastic week at the Welsh Horse and Pony International

New Blue Chip Sponsored Rider, Tahnia Jordan-Jones has had a fantastic week at the Welsh HPI show, winning GOLD on Anastasia Snook’s, Thyme Flies, as a part of the team and then finishing with the fastest time in the 138 Horse of the Year Show class on Tuesday. The combination had only 4 faults over the whole week of competition to finish in fourth place overall! She also gained consistent placing’s throughout the week on another of her mounts, Oakhurst in the Spotlight, as well as winning a 1.10m class on Sulan Hollywood Knight, who may have gained a HOYS Qualification in only his second 1.35m technical and demanding Pony Show Jumper class, in which Tahnia rode spectacularly to finish 5. They are currently awaiting confirmation from the BSJA but we wish the pair the best of luck and have all our fingers crossed that they can make it to HOYS!
