Hi, my name is Sarah, and I have worked at Blue Chip for over 5 ½ years, after graduating from Nottingham Trent University with my degree in Equine Sports Science.

I manage the general running of the office, look after our sponsored events, as well as ensuring that all of your nutritional enquires are answered.

I try to provide a complete diet package for your horse or pony, including how to suit their management routine to their dietary needs.  There are many more contributing factors that affect your horse or pony’s weight and condition, than simply what you put in their feed bucket.

Providing a complete diet and management plan will help to ensure that the long-term health and welfare of your horse or pony is maintained.

I liaise with our sponsored events, and attend them where possible to present prizes and rosettes to the competitors in our classes.  I also attend trade shows, providing nutritional support and advice; I love to hear how your horse or pony is progressing on Blue Chip, so please come along for a chat if you’re at one of the events that we have a stand at.

I also assist our export distributors, both with their orders and also their nutritional enquiries – which are often completely different to those in the UK!  In August 2013 I visited our distributor in South Africa.  I did a series of lecture evenings, which seemed to be very well received, and I’m hoping to go back in a couple of years to expand the area that we covered with further lectures.

In November 2014 I was lucky to visit our Australian distributors, Paul and Anita.  It was difficult to comprehend how big a country Australia is, but having been there now I can see how much hard work Paul and Anita are putting in to expanding the Australian Blue Chip market.  If you’re reading this from Australia and would like further information on becoming a stockist, partner or customer please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Visiting these different countries has really opened my eyes to how differently they feed their horses and ponies, and how varied their forage can be compared to ours.  Blue Chip will have a stand at SPOGA 2015 (August/September) – if you’re interested in becoming a Blue Chip Export Distributor please come and see us in hall 4.1, stand D59.

I have ridden from a young age, and have owned my mare, Cracker, for 6 years.  Cracker is a 16.3hh IDxWB, and I’m hoping to get out to some local shows with her this year.

If you would like any feeding advice for your horse or pony please don’t hesitate to contact me, and I hope to see you at a trade show in the near future.
