Yeast Culture
Lami-Light contains a specific yeast culture that helps maintain the correct acidic balance in the hind gut, which in turn enables the important fibre digesting bacteria or ‘good bugs’ to thrive. Maintaining this more stable environment aids the activity of the fibre reducing bacteria. Studies have shown that numbers of beneficial bacteria in the caecum are greater when supplemented with a yeast culture, together with enhancing the uptake of nutrients such as zinc and calcium for the support of healthy hoof wall formation.
A prebiotic and sepiolite clay
In many cases of laminitis, ill effects associated with the condition are a result of acidification of the hindgut, causing the death of bacteria, which decay to release harmful toxins. The inclusion of a prebiotic helps to encourage friendly bacteria in the gut, whilst sepiolite clay helps remove toxins from the gut.
