Antioxidant Vitamins and Minerals

Every cell of the horse's body needs protection by antioxidants to target free radicals. The production of free radicals is increased along with exercise, stress and injury. Older horses are less able to neutralise free radicals. Blue Chip Dynamic has been formulated to include the following key antioxidants.

Vitamins C and E – have been included in Blue Chip Dynamic to help in the natural control of free radicals. They provide a combination of fat soluble and water soluble vitamins with known antioxidant properties. The two act synergistically with certain important enzymes, such as glutathione peroxidase, which naturally mops up free radicals. The combined results of the antioxidants are believed to be greater than the individual antioxidants on their own. Vitamin C is not an essential nutrient for horses, but plays a specific and crucial role in the formation of collagen, an important protein of bone and joints.
