Yucca – has been used for decades to support horses with stiff joints. Native Americans used yucca for this purpose, not realising that the benefits were due to the saponins it contained. Additional benefits of feeding yucca include binding of excess nitrogen in the gut, which reduces ammonia levels in the urine, leading to reduced stable odours and a more pleasant environment for your horse. Many horses have been seen to become more settled in attitude when fed on yucca.
