April has been the most hectic month of the year so far! On the 31st March to the 1st April we were at the IDHT National Championships held at The College EC, Keysoe. We qualified for this event after being the highest placed Junior in the Wessex Region points league. We are off to the Indoor National Championships held at The College EC in Keysoe today. The past month has been fairly quiet for us, with all efforts concentrated on preparing Jasper for Keysoe. He has spent a week at my instructor Jude Holloway’s yard, being schooled, being clipped, having his mane pulled and he has been re-shod. MORE INFO…

November was a busy month for us, starting off with an On-Foot National Young Drivers meeting on the 19th with a brilliant talk on Sports Psychology at the Unicorn Trust in Stow-on-the-World.

The talk was given by Nicola Kentzer on training for excellence and staying motivated. The day was great and I came home full of renewed enthusiasm and with a better understanding of how to remain motivated through the long, dark winter months.

October marked the start of the Indoor season for us, with our first event on the 9th, where we had a fantastic day out, enjoying the beautiful facilities at Sparsholt College.

August was a very busy month for us, starting off with Junior Camp held at Ashfields Carriage & Polo Centre.

We had a great week training at the centre, working towards the selection event at the end for the 2012 Junior World Trophy.

This was the first time Jasper has been to a junior camp. It was a good test for a young horse as there were plenty of things going on at once and as always, Jasper behaved like a star.

A quick update for July from us.  July has been a fairly quiet month as now we know we have qualified for the National Championships we are focusing on increasing Jaspers fitness.

I have obviously been busy finishing school and starting on my work experience that is necessary in order to become a vet. MORE INFO…

Since we last spoke Amber has been to the Junior World Trophy in Hungary which was a once in a lifetime experience. Fortune Teller went beautifully in every phase and we were over the moon with her performance. Amber was placed 5th in the Dressage, 5th in the Derby and 5th in the Cones and much to our surprise we discovered we had moved up a place to 4th overall! The English team was also 4th so although we just missed out on medals both times we are extremely pleased with the result. MORE INFO…
