The stallions at Glenwood stud really proved themselves on Tuesday 24th July at Richmond Equestrian Centre where the British Equestrian Federation held one of their Youngstock Futurity Evaluations. Wise Guy R had two youngsters forward; one a yearling, Valentino Virtuoso R, owned by Dawn Gallagher gaining a first premium for show jumping (8.0) and also a three year old, Lowlands Wise Choice, owned by Sian Cudahay gained a first premium also for show jumping(8.17) and is at present first in the ratings for the futurity in the U.K, which proves Wise Guy is really producing good quality youngsters. Lowlands Wise Choice had a first premium as a yearling and two year old.
Valesco, who stood at Glenwood, had a three year old put forward owned by Nadine Lofthouse who gained a good premium for eventing(7.88) and Knightley Park, the studs’ Irish Draught sports horse stallion, had a yearling put forward, Knightley Rebellion, owned by Louise Andrews who gained a first premium for Eventing.(8.43)
To top the day, Dancing Bluefield Velvet, a three year old mare by Catherston Dance in the Dark owned by David Essen and Sue Dewick, flew round the course of jumps to gain an Elite Premium for Eventing.(9.08)
Glenwood’s young four year old Connemara stallion, Eastlands Hollybrae, also flew the flag last weekend by gaining his first Picton qualification for the NPS champs on only his first official outing under saddle.
