“I just wanted to  let you know how impressed I am with your Karma (liquid equine clamer); I am on week 2 of feeding Blue Chip Karma and the difference in my mare is fantastic.  I’m a total sceptic of so called ‘calmers’ but was recommended Karma by former international show jumper, Lionel Dunning.  My mare is a 7yr old show jumper and last year qualified the Marsh National 6yr old Final, but she was quite unrideable at times and her results were very hit and miss. Professionals had dubbed her talented but unrideable.

We’ve had a mixed season this year and more challenges. Holly and I moved up to Advanced, we’ve had a few teething problems in the XC. It was a real shame at Belton that I jumped the wrong jump as we would have only had the 20 penalties for the first refusal and some time penalties, she went so well I think we would have been placed in the AU25. As you know I had a lesson with Sarah Hunt a few months ago and she gave me some great tips.

The snow has been challenging – as much as I like it it’s a little inconvenient when you have horses! I hope it doesn’t come back too soon as it does limited the riding I can do – oh to have an indoor school!

I went to the South East Eventers Ball a couple of weeks ago where we picked up 2nd in the Leading Mare and 6th in the Leading Owner Rider.

So we’ve all started competing and I thought you’d like an update.

So far, both the A and B team have hosted their competitions. Unfortunately the B team’s was way back at the end of last year so we didn’t have the kit for then, but everyone was commenting on the A team at how smart everything looked! MORE INFO…

The Sheffield High School Equestrian team had their showjumping assessment this weekend. One of the team captains, Katie Midgeley reports, “The rider assessment went really well today, all being well we should have three teams to take to Bishop Burton on the 21st of February. A team at 70cm, 80cm and 1m. We also have two individual riders as well. Everyone rode very well and we are confident for the upcoming competition!

The Blue Chip Winter Show Jumping Championships are held at the impressive Hartpury Arena in Gloucestershire, with riders qualifying across the length and breadth of the country to compete at these prestigious Championships.

If you have not qualified for the Championships, there are a number of classes where qualification prior to the show is not required, so do not miss out on your chance to be at the Championships.

In October my 11 year old Connemara, mare was diagnosed with Laminitis, she could hardly stand when the vet was called and was in dreadful pain, we prepared ourselves for the worst that she would not make it through the night, the vets were great they quickly gave her pain relief and padded her front feet, she was stabled for around two months and was not allowed to step out of her stable. We heard about Blue Chip products and reading some good reports we decided to try the Lami-Light.  She was on the road to recovery by the start of the year and was responding very well to treatment, she was brought back into work in March and attended her first Dressage event in April, of which we and the vets were amazed she had come on so fast.
