Sheffield High School six-formers, Katie Midgley and Alex Chester, both aged 17, are putting together a school equestrian team to compete in the National Schools Equestrian Association.

It is a completely new venture for the school and the girls have managed to secure sponsorship from a number of local companies.

Head teacher Valerie Dunsford said: “The girls have put a tremendous amount of work into setting up this new venture and securing sponsorship for the team. It is entirely their own initiative. We are very proud of them and wish them every success in their first competition”. MORE INFO…









In 2011 Trevor will be taking part in the Virgin London Marathon, to raise money for the Bobby Moore Bowel Cancer Trust. Trevor has worked as Horse & Hound’s photographer for more than 20 years, and we are delighted to be able to support him in his goal to raise £2000 for the charity.
Breeze arrived at the NAC; a bag of bones, crawling with lice, hooves cracked and broken, she barely had the strength to hold herself up. Our equine vet gave a very poor prognosis for her future and considering she was 29 years old we had little hope that this poor mare would recover from the years of abuse and neglect she had suffered.
