Eventing is a unique magazine, a sister publication to the UK’s leading equestrian weekly Horse and Hound, and dedicated to providing detailed coverage of horse trials in the UK and abroad.

.

Blue Chip Joint RLF has been tried and tested in this month’s issue and here’s the verdict:

.

“Being a liquid supplement Joint RLF is palatable, cost effective and the results are obvious. Horses start work looser and more supple, which improves their jumping technique, freedom of movement and performance. It gives peace of mind that their joints are being looked after.”

Susie lives and works in Shropshire, as a full-time chartered surveyor, running the Equestrian Department for a firm called, Balfours.

.

She events her two horses, Eighteen Carrots (Joey) and Tilston Tic Toc (Ben).  She feeds both her horses Blue Chip Pro, and also feeds Ben Blue Chip Karma, as he can lack concentration in the dressage phase.  She first started to feed Blue Chip when she won the Novice Round-Up in Eventing Magazine, and then went on to win 1 year’s sponsorship from Blue Chip.

.

Joey is a 5 year old dun TB/ID gelding, and had a fantastic season in 2009; including coming 3rd BE 100 at Wolverhampton and 1st BE 100 at Broadway.  Ben, a 7 year old bay TB X, currently has 12 BE points, and Susie is hoping to run him at Intermediate part way through 2010.  His results for 2009 include 3rd at Bradwell (Novice), 7th at Somerford Park (Novice) and 7th at Kelsall Hill (Novice).

.

Everyone at Blue Chip is looking forward to following Susie throughout 2010, and we wish her all the best in her future events.

2010 Results

Ben (Tilston Tic Toc) was 10th in a very competitive Novice class at Aston Le Walls (2) Horse Trials 23rd July 2010

Wolverhampton – Eighteen Carrots was 2nd

Novice at Upton House – Tilston Tic Toc was 11th

Ascott Under Wychwood – Eighteen Carrots was 5th

Joey – BE 100 – 8th Kelsall Hill, 9th Moreton Morrel, 2nd Brigstock, 6th Shelford Manor.

Ben – Novice – double clear; Kelsall Hill.

“Taboo is being a star as usual; the European CCI** training is going well and I was recently invited to Royal Windsor to do a demo for them which was really good.  Taboo and I have completed his first CCI** at Houghton recently, a brilliant start with a fab dressage of which put me 7th on the first day; unfortunately I had a run out XC at the 8th fence, I was 3rd to go on the day of which myself and the first 5 horses had problems at the same fence, the rest of the section learnt by our mistake and went for the long route, typical although I’m sure I would have done the same if it was me! He trotted up fantastically the next day and was a star SJ, just the 1 down; an FEI steward came over and commented on what a fantastic horse he was so all in all a good event.  We are off to Catton next, then Salperton, Barbury CIC**, Wilton and then Hartpury CCI**.”

With the unusual weather this year grass is coming through a lot later than normal, therefore the “laminitis season” (the time of year your horse is more susceptible to laminitis) is also later than usual.

.

Now is the time to help prevent your horse or pony from laminitis. Find out how to help your horses digestion, hooves and weight by clicking here…

Chris was at the Fenland Quarter Horse Show last weekend where he won the Open All Round for the first show on Cole (Hesa Classy Shadow). Unfortunately we couldn’t stay for Show 2 as we had to go to our WES Area show in Richmond, Yorkshire. Chris won all his classes  here,  apart for the ones he had two horses in ,  when he was first and second.

.

We have ‘aquired’ a couple of new horses. We have a ‘green’ Paint horse called Straits Doc Dee Bar and a palamino Quarter Horse called Sentimental Shine. Both have been sent to us by the head of the UK Paint Horse Association for Chris to compete for the season. They are both reining horses. Photos attached. Dee (the Paint) has a lot to learn yet but we are very excited about Cally – the palamino. It will be a bit quiet for a while , we are off to Oklahoma City in just over two weeks for the AQHA Youth World Cup.

NIGHT LILY is a four year old filly who joined us in February and has run four times between 30th April and 7th June.  She has won twice and been second twice.  This is an extremely good record, especially for a filly and Blue Chip Pro has helped keep her in good form.  All the ingredients in Pro have helped her, especially its ability to enable better utilisation of the racehorse diet.  Her coat and muscle tone look wonderful and her recovery time after racing is evident in her racing record.

After Blue Chip

When Emma Moulding from Wisbech in Cambridgeshire was looking for her first horse, “a large sensible cob to plod around the village with”, she saw an advertisement for Emily and bought her despite obvious neglect, just knowing she had found the horse she always wanted. Turning immediately to Blue Chip for help with her Emily’s diet, Emma tells the heart-warming story in her own words ….

.

Before Blue Chip

“Emily looked underweight in the advert, but when I went to see her, nothing could have prepared me for how shocking her condition really was. She had been bought from a meat market and then under fed by the dealer who was selling her. She turned out to be an Ardennes horse and should have weighed 600-700kg, but when I weighed her a week after getting her home, she was 524kg.

.

“Her teeth, feed, skin and coat were in terrible condition; the man I bought her from had hunter clipped her due to her having lice, she was covered in old scars and her main and tail were a mess, as she has sweet itch. MORE INFO…

After Using Blue Chip Dynamic

Hi Blue Chip people!!

.
I heard about your feed through various friends and also saw it advertised in magazines. My horse had an injury when she was a riding school horse where she was shot with a bow and arrow in her rump whilst grazing in the field. Since this terrible event she had been prone to pulling her muscle in her back end which put me off jumping her and meant she was off work for periods at a time. I put her on Blue Chip Dynamic (joint supplement) and I can hand on heart say that since I changed her feed she has not injured herself again (touch wood). I can now jump her and she is much happier!! MORE INFO…
