Joining us last year we have a unique duo of mother and daughter – Jo and Holly Bates. Jo is well known and respected in the Showing world and delivers fine results year-on-year while Holly is making her way into the world of Dressage.

Jo says on her, Holly and their horses
“Holly’s horse is Sandrose Silk 6 year old British bred mare owned by Anne Taylor who is by Sandro Hit x Broadstone Dutch Sovereign. Holly is hoping to compete her at Elementary, Medium and Advanced Medium this year together with the young horse 6 year old classes. We are currently looking for another horse for Holly to compete alongside this mare so if anyone would like to send us details we would be interested to have a look!! Holly attained her TASS scholarship this year which has been extremely beneficial to her training programme. She finishes her A Levels at the end of June when she will concentrate of her horses and dressage full time.

I am competing on Broadstone Dolce Vita – 7 year old mare by Demonstrator x Deborah Coy (full sister to Broadstone Doulton). This mare was Champion at the South of England last year, Reserve Champion Royal Windsor, Lincoln, Leicester County and 3rd at Horse of the are show 2007. This year she was Champion Riding Horse at Addington Festival of Showing and is on route to Royal Windsor next week.

Between Holly and myself we are sharing the ride on a Fell Pony called Townend Hamish owned by Denise Bumford who will be competing in the Horse of the Year Show Mountain and Moorland and Olympia qualifiers.”
